YMG Type Foundry is a professional team specializing in multiscript type design, particularly with Hangeul, Latin, and CJK scripts. We offer high-end custom typefaces tailored to each culture’s typographic traditions.

윤민구ㅣ대표, 디렉터, 활자체 디자이너

활자체 디자이너. 글자를 그리고 한 벌의 활자체로 만든다. 그래픽 디자인을 전공한 뒤, 스위스 로잔 예술 대학교 (ECAL) 대학원에서 한글과 라틴 알파벳을 함께 디자인하는 바이 스크립트 타입 디자인에 관한 연구로 석사 학위를 받았다. 안그라픽스 타이포그라피연구소 연구원을 거쳐, 현재 대학에서 활자체 디자인과 타이포그래피를 가르치고 있다. 윤슬체, 윤슬바탕체, 블랑, 파보리트 한글 등의 서체를 디자인했다.

Mingoo Yoon | Founder, Director, Type Designer

Type designer based in Seoul, Korea. He received his bachelor’s degree in graphic design and earned master’s from ECAL in Switzerland with a research project about bi-script type design for Hangul and Latin alphabets. He worked as a researcher at AG Typography Lab and is currently teaching type design & typography at the university. Collaborating various domestic and international brands and artists, he mainly works with typeface-based graphic design.

김지은ㅣ활자체 디자이너

UI, UX, 활자체를 함께 다루는 디자이너. 커뮤니케이션 디자인을 전공했고, 안그라픽스 타이포그라피 연구소에서 디자이너로 일하며 글자 다루는 법을 배웠다. 2018년 활자체 블랑을 시작으로 을유1945, 파보리트 한글 등 다양한 활자체 디자인에 참여했으며, 개인 서체 작업 또한 꾸준히 병행하고 있다.

Jieun Kim | Type Designer

UI, UX & Type designer. She studied in communication design and worked as an intern at the AG Typography Lab, where she learned how to draw letters. Starting with Blanc Serif in 2018, she participated in various projects such as Eulyoo1945 and Favorit Hangul, etc.

김민영ㅣ컨설턴트, 프로젝트 매니저

타이포그래피 컨설턴트, 프로젝트 매니저. 일본 무사시노 미술대학에서 석사과정으로 동아시아권 문자와 라틴의 멀티 스크립트 조판에 관한 역사 및 현대적 사용법에 대해 연구했다. 일본 타입 파운드리 모리사와, 폰트웍스에서 타입 프로젝트 매니저로 일했고, 2020년 다국어 활자체 개발 및 타이포그래피 컨설팅에 중점을 둔 Studio Em Dash를 설립했다.

Minyoung Kim | Consultant, Project Manager

Trilingual typography consultant, project manager, and a researcher specializing in CJK-Latin typography. After completing her Master’s degree at Musashino Art University on history & modern usages of CJK-Latin multiscript typesetting, She developed her career in font business as a type project manager at Japanese type foundries: Morisawa and Fontworks. She established Studio Em Dash in 2020, with a focus on multilingual type development and typographical consultancy.
